People Counting & Store Analytics

What is Store Analytics Dashboard?

Also known as: footfall dashboard, retail KPI dashboard, people counting dashboard

A store analytics dashboard is a screen or web page that brings together key store figures, typically visitor counts, sales, conversion rate, average transaction value and labour, in one place. Managers can view it by store, region or time period.

Data flows in from people counters, the POS system and sometimes rostering or ecommerce platforms. The dashboard then calculates metrics, plots trends against targets or last year, and may send alerts, such as when a sensor stops reporting or conversion drops sharply.

Store managers use it to adjust rosters and promotions during the week, while head office uses the same data to compare stores, review campaigns and spot underperformers. Reports can be scheduled and emailed to regional managers or franchisees.

The usefulness depends on the data behind it. Check that visitor counts and sales are matched to the same hours, that definitions are agreed across stores and that sensor faults are flagged. Too many charts can bury the few measures that matter, so start with a handful of clear indicators and make sure someone owns acting on them. Set a regular review, such as a short weekly check, so the numbers lead to action.

A well-designed dashboard turns raw counts into decisions. RetailCare supplies V-Count people counters that feed this kind of reporting.
